I'm Bob. I am a bachelor and share residence, household chores and living expenses with mom.

My interests are Ham Radio (Amateur Radio), watching old movies and shows on cable TV. I also get a lot of enjoyment out of gadgets.

Amateur Radio
Don't know where the interest began but it is in full bloom now. I have made some close friends in this hobby. We formed a club and meet once a month to just get together and chat. I am currently the president of the club. We go to an annual amateur radio convention in a near by city and a smaller one here in our area. We have one evening a week where for about an hour we chat back and forth on our radios. When one of us need help putting up antennas or cabling we try to get together as a group and help each other out. Bob

We had the privilege of meeting and getting a photos taken with Gordon West at my third area ham fest.

I am also a member of the Central Ohio Amateur Radio Emergency Service. One of the things we do is go to area hospitals to maintain and check their radio equipment.

Cable
I have enjoyed cable TV for quite a while now. I really enjoy old movies and reruns of old TV shows. I'll get around to telling you about some of my favorites a little later on.

Gadgets
Wow! I can't go into a home improvement store, hardware, or even grocery with a gadget counter without spending quite a bit of time "window shopping".

I also get lots of ideas from QVC TV and other ad type shows.

Red Cross
I have really gotten involved in the Red Cross program. I have taken several classes. I now take part with the Red Cross in marathon races, Ohio State Football games, and other rescue efforts. For instance, I was able to go to the New York Marathon (and got to see where the Twin Towers were). My close friend, Mark, and I also drove to Florida to assist in one of the hurricane relief efforts. We also have been called upon to use our talents with the radios to search for lost or abducted children.

Citizens Police Association
I have also taken training in the Citizens Police Programs here in my city. I took the six week training course and graduated. My family attended the graduation. With this training I assist the police in any way I am allowed. I am entitled to go on "ride alongs", which I have done. And most recently went up in the Police helicopter. We got a grand tour of the new police academy in my area. We have a special room for our meetings in that new facility. At graduation we became members of the Alumni Association
